This weeks shower room project
Bathroom Installation in Solihull
This weeks project was spent converting a bathroom installation in Solihull in to a walk in shower room. In the photo below, I have taken the bath out and started to make preparations altering the plumbing so that a thermostatic mixer bar can be installed into the partition wall that I have built. To the back of this photo, you will notice that I have made a platform out of 18 mm mdf for the shower tray to sit on. The platform is raised off the ground using CLS timber The purpose of raising the platform, is to accommodate for the 40 mm shower waste pipe underneath.
The below photo shows on the left hand side a partition wall I have built, which houses the plumbing for the shower and also utilises space for a built in cupboard.
n this photo, I have made all my preparations and finally started tiling the shower walls.
The tiles I have chosen for this project are plain black ceramic. The shower tray measures 1400 x 900 which is a comfortable size shower.
In this photo, I have finished the tiling and installed the new chrome shower. The shower has two shower heads, one is a conventional shower head and the other is an overhead rain shower.
Here you can see how I have made use of some valuable storage space by incorporating a cupboard in to the partition wall.
